The age range for youth bible lessons is targeted for those in the age group of eight(8) to the teen years,however these bible lessons can be adapted to different ages. Each child's biblical and emotional background is different, so emotional maturity plays more of a role than actual age.

This age group should already be memorizing scripture and applying it to their lives. Their interests lie in gaining an understanding of how the world works and what roles they, as Christians, play in it. They enjoy problem solving and are challenged by teen word studies and electronic games. They frequently question and challenge rules and laws. These bible lessons will help kids to understand why God's principles are unchanging. Therefore explaining to them that everyone (even adults) faces repercussions when not following God's laws helps them to gain a reverential respect for God. These lessons are focused on God's promises and God's economy.

Because this age group spends more time away from their parents and with friends, it is imperative that we emphasize at an early age that they should lean on God-not others when faced with a decision. These lessons will give them a strong foundation in this area. Encouraging a child to get involved in a bible based youth group can help form close bonds with other Christians, but it does not take the place of a parent's or God's presence. Kids at this age may appear like they are not listening to authority figures. However it is important that you continue to feed them spiritually. They are hearing you, and you are influencing their decisions more than you know.
